AntiFreeze – A Backup Program to the Windows Task Manager Posted: 29 Sep 2010 05:14 AM PDT Unresponsive programs are a mess. They cause PCs to crash. It’s a good thing Windows has its own tool of solving this problem. The Windows Task Manager software lets users forcefully terminate unresponsive applications. By just clicking the world’s most famous hotkey, CTRL + ALT + When this happens, either the CPU or memory usage (or both) are maxed out. The only way you can bring back your computer is to turn it off / restart it, and turn the PC again. Although this method can resolve hung computers, most of the time, you will lose almost all programs you’ve opened before. If this is your constant dilemma, try the functionality of AntiFreeze. This application is an effective backup tool for the Windows Task Manager. When both your PC and Task Manager freeze, this software can come to the rescue. By just pressing its default hotkey, ALT + CTRL + WIN + HOME, you can terminate almost all suspended programs responsible of your computer’s unresponsiveness. AntiFreeze can be downloaded at http://www.resplendence.com/download. Click the Save File button to save the installer in your computer. Wait for the download to finish. When it is, open the setup file. In Windows’ Security Warning page, press Run to proceed. Hit Next > and follow all the Setup Wizard’s installation procedures. When you’re done installing the program, check the Launch AntiFreeze checkbox and click Finish. If you have problems running the software, you can launch it by double-clicking its executable file located at C:\Program Files\AntiFreeze. By default, after the installation, AntiFreeze will register itself as one of your computer’s startup programs. This is the application’s primary interface. You can press the OK button to minimize it to your system tray. This software will just run on your PCs background waiting for it to be activated. It will only consume approximately 1 MB of your computer’s memory when it is idle. When your computer and Task Manager are not responding to any mouse clicks and keyboard hits, press AntiFreeze’s default shortcut key, ALT + CTRL + WIN + HOME, so that you can forcibly terminate a suspended program. You’ll be presented with this window if you pressed the said hotkey. As you can see, all applications were suspended by AntiFreeze. This is necessary so that you can view which programs are consuming more CPU time and memory usage. Typically, a software that eats up more system resources is the cause of the hung. Click the End process button to kill the responsible program.
