HomePipe

Access Files and Music Library over Web: HomePipe

HomePipe Network is a free service that lets members access and share their personal files across the internet. This new internet service came into being in March of 2010 and is gaining in popularity. HomePipe’s free service offers unlimited storage and members are able to access their content from any browser, including iPhone, iPod-touch and Android.

There are absolutely no charges and the program is able to function with any type of firewall. This free file sharing service installs simply and quickly on all Windows computers as well as Apple Mac systems. The mobile application is compatible with the desktop version, using it as a kind of server when accessing photos, documents, other types of media and will even allow the user to access iTunes. This is like having cloud based music library.

How to Use HomePipe:

§ Sign up and activate an account. This task only takes a few minutes.

§ Once signed up, you will be prompted to download and setup the free HomePipe program.

§ With the program downloaded and setup you can now log on. To get access to your files, visit the HomePipe website and click on the ‘My Stuff’ icon. Instantly you will be able to begin sharing all your personal files.

§ Browse the various options and configure the application to your own requirements.

Other personal file sharing servers we reviewed earlier include Tonido, Gigatribe, and free personal VPN.

Free HomePipe also allows you to give access to your music library and other folders to others. Simply log on to your HomePipe account, click on ‘sharing/Settings’ and follow the instructions. Once access has been confirmed, simply open the application. I

f permission has be given for your music library to be accessed, the music remains in the file and cannot be copied, modified or changed in anyway; unless you authorize such changes. Once access has been given to friends or colleagues, all will be able to enjoy the music and photographs that you store in your system. This free application naturally allows members to refuse and/or cancel access to anyone at any time.

With thousands of internet users storing files these days, downloading and installing a free application like HomePipe is a good idea. The application is safe, efficient, user-friendly and continually growing and improving.
